Safeguarding Individual Rights

With over 20 years of experience, I have built a practice dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals, often against powerful corporate interests that seek to exploit their superior resources. At the core of my practice is a commitment to safeguard the individual, leveraging the law and other resources to prevent abuse by powerful entities.

Drawing on a diverse background in law, journalism, investigation, and business, I approach each matter uniquely, often assembling customized global teams to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients in both transactions and disputes.

Defending Employee Rights

I represent employees and executives in a wide range of contentious and non-contentious workplace matters, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, whistleblowing, investigations, compensation disputes, and cross-border regulatory issues. Through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation, I work to protect my clients’ rights, secure their financial interests, and safeguard their professional futures.

Resolving Complex Disputes

When disputes cannot be resolved privately, I litigate the matter, assembling a specialized team to counter well-resourced adversaries. My litigation practice focuses on challenging fraudulent business practices, combating discriminatory policies and exposing deceptive practices that exploit individuals and mislead the public. With experience in high-profile cases against leading players in finance, media, and the art world (see articles below). I develop strategies that hold powerful opponents accountable. My experience includes litigation and arbitration before various tribunals, including New York courts, FINRA, AAA, and ICC.

Free Speech & Privacy

My practice is committed to protecting individual privacy, free speech, and the flow of accurate information. As a founding board member and advisor to Reporters Without Borders USA, I have defended journalists threatened by governments and worked to safeguard press freedom globally. My transactional practice focuses on protecting privacy rights and representing individuals in art, technology, and media, particularly those with less bargaining power who may feel they are not in a position to request protections for fear of "rocking the boat."
